Terms of Service

Just Play Guitar School
Last updated: 9/30/2026

These Terms of Service explain the conditions of enrollment, membership, payment, and participation at Just Play Guitar School (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By completing enrollment and accepting these terms, you confirm that you are the student’s parent or legal guardian, or an adult student enrolling yourself, and agree to the terms below.

1. Membership and Lessons

The Just Play Guitar School membership includes:

  • One scheduled 50-minute skill-building guitar session per week.

  • Access to our supplementary online learning portal.

  • Weekly practice action steps and supporting learning resources.

Regular instruction is provided in a small-group format unless otherwise agreed. Your student’s schedule will be confirmed during enrollment.

Students progress at different rates. Progress depends on factors including attendance, practice, and participation; we do not guarantee a particular level of achievement within a specific period.

2. Tuition and Enrollment Fee

Standard tuition is $193 per month, unless a different rate or discount has been confirmed with you in writing.

A one-time $25 enrollment fee is charged during the first month to provide a method book and tuner, unless we confirm that this fee has been waived.

Tuition is a flat monthly membership fee and does not change based on whether a month contains four or five weekly lesson dates.

3. Recurring Payments

Payments are processed through Stripe using your authorized payment method.

Tuition is paid in advance. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges at the rate disclosed during enrollment and checkout. Your membership continues until canceled under the cancellation policy below.

Your first payment date and recurring billing date will be disclosed during signup. Unless otherwise agreed, billing occurs monthly on the anniversary of your program start date. For example, a program beginning October 8 would normally renew on November 8 and the eighth of each following month.

Please keep your payment information current and contact us if you anticipate insufficient funds or another payment issue.

4. Refunds and Transfers

Except where required by law or expressly provided in a written offer applicable to your enrollment, tuition is nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Refunds are not provided for a change of mind, student absences, or unused makeup credits. Missed lessons are handled under the makeup policy below.

5. Attendance

Students receive a regular lesson time after their trial and enrollment. Scheduling information and reminders are managed through MyMusicStaff.

Please arrive on time. Late arrival does not extend the scheduled lesson or entitle the student to additional lesson time.

Parents and guardians are responsible for reviewing scheduling communications and notifying us of absences.

6. Student Absences and Makeup Lessons

If you provide at least 24 hours’ notice that your student cannot attend a scheduled lesson, we will issue a makeup lesson credit.

Makeup credits may be used to attend our Song Repertoire sessions, held approximately every three weeks. Available sessions can be booked through the student portal.

If fewer than 24 hours’ notice is provided, we are not obligated to offer a replacement lesson or makeup credit.

Missed lessons and unused makeup credits do not qualify for refunds. Payments cannot be paused solely to allow a student to use accumulated makeup credits.

When a student misses a lesson, they may continue practicing their assigned material. A parent or guardian may send a recording or question by text for teacher feedback.

7. Teacher Absences

If a teacher cannot teach during your student’s reserved lesson time, we will provide a makeup lesson credit.

Credits issued because of a teacher’s absence may carry over beyond 30 days.

8. Membership Cancellation

To withdraw from the program, you must provide 30 days’ notice by submitting our Membership Cancellation Form.

Contact justplayguitarschool@gmail.com to request the form if you cannot locate it. Requesting the form alone does not complete cancellation; the notice period begins when the completed form is submitted.

Texts, phone calls, emails, and letters do not replace submission of the cancellation form, except where applicable law requires another cancellation method.

Payments due during the 30-day notice period will be prorated to reflect the portion of the membership remaining before cancellation takes effect.

Not attending lessons does not automatically cancel your membership.

9. Temporary Membership Freezes

To request a temporary suspension, complete the Membership Freeze Form. Contact us if you need access to the form.

A freeze request does not automatically suspend billing. We will confirm the applicable freeze dates and billing arrangements with you.

10. Student Conduct

Students and accompanying family members must treat teachers, other students, equipment, and the lesson location respectfully.

We reserve the right to discontinue lessons for violations of these terms or conduct that is unsafe, abusive, or materially disruptive. Any remaining billing or refund obligations will be handled according to applicable law and the circumstances of the discontinuation.

11. Online Learning Resources

Our membership includes access to supplementary learning materials through Soundslice at no additional charge.

Students are encouraged to use assigned materials between lessons and when unable to attend a regular session.

Access to third-party learning platforms is also subject to those providers’ applicable terms and privacy policies. Parents or guardians should supervise their child’s use of online resources.

12. Online Lessons During COVID-19 Restrictions

If COVID-19 restrictions prevent in-person instruction, lessons will transition to live online instruction through Zoom.

Choosing not to attend the offered online lessons does not entitle you to a refund, except where required by law.

For attendance verification and safety, students must join using their full name and keep their camera on. Please contact us in advance if your family needs an accommodation.

13. Photos, Video, and Audio Recordings

By enrolling and accepting our Studio Policy, you consent to photographic, video, and audio recordings of the student during lessons, online sessions, workshops, concerts, and other Just Play Guitar School events.

These recordings may be used for administrative and educational purposes, including quality control, performance review, student progress tracking, and lesson content creation, as well as promotional purposes, including our website, social media, and advertising.

You may revoke this consent at any time by emailing justplayguitarschool@gmail.com.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information.

Please do not send full payment card numbers or security codes by email or text. Payment information should be entered through our secure payment provider.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms or our lesson policies. Changes affecting existing memberships will take effect no sooner than 30 days after we notify enrolled families by email, unless a different process is required by law.

We will obtain additional consent when required. Changes will not retroactively alter charges or services already provided.
